Welcome to Easy Cuisine MTL

University can be a tough time for students, especially for those who go to school far from home such as foreign exchange students or those who decide to go to a school in a different province or even country. This can be their first experience taking care of themselves and more importantly getting their own food. For many, they tend to focus on what food they can get quickly, such as take-out fast food and premade frozen dinners. While seeming convenient, these meals are not exactly high on the nutritional scale and often wind up being more expensive. Their perception is often that it can be too hard or time consuming to cook for themselves or that they can cause some kind of … disaster in the kitchen

Truth is cooking can be easier that it seems and as fun as it can be filling. We’re not saying to start with full turkey dinner or that your first attempts will be restaurant quality. All you need to do is start with simple quick recipes and learn from there. You’ll be surprised how good even the simplest meals can be just by choosing fresh ingredients and the best wake to make sure your food is to taste is to make it yourself. Cooking can seem overwhelming but there are many sources (websites, cookbooks, even cooking shows) that offer simple step by step recipes and instructions. Some of the best sources will offer a variety of alternatives to ingredients as well as tips and tricks for simplifying the whole experience.

With the day to day of a typical student’s day and the perceived difficulty of cooking for yourself is what has inspired us to write this blog. Food is an important part of life and a healthy diet is essential for a balanced life which help for a successful university and later on professional career. Everyone needs to understand how many calories they need and what combinations of vitamins and minerals are needed for their day to day lives. Supplements can help, but they’re not as good as making sure you eat properly and the best way to eat properly is to cook for yourself.
